we're making plans to take a few weeks off this June and hiking part of the Appalachian Trail. Stoked.

That often sounds better in theory than in practice. My wife is happy about having time with our daughter until the reality of being the main source of entertainment for our 5 year old sets in then I get the phone calls at work about how our daughter's driving her nuts.
