and as I continue
...to search for a commuter and a get off my but and do something bike i have stumbled across this. https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll....cWAT.m240.lVI and the nice thing is the seller is local so shipping disapears and i might even be able to check out the bike.
in general: Pros and Cons? over all opinions on the bike.
about my plan.
this will stat as a fitness bike as the stationary at the gym is so boring, so i am going to start off by riding around locally until i get my bike legs back under me (used to ride a lot of single trrack in college a few years back) then would like to move to commuting. my commute by car is about 11 miles each way but i think i can cut it to about 8 or 9 each way on a bike. would be mostly street and bike path with some possible off the bike trail for a few seconds type of packed dirt transitions.

I haven't seen one in person, but here's an older review on the bike on the forums.
With disc brakes, it can be difficult finding racks that would work with it, but there are a few mentioned in that review that should work with it.

Looks like a good bike to start with...if it fits you.
