It's the tire! Notice the guy using the Pro 2 Grip keeps the rubber side down. Actually, that's just a Pro 2.

are the pr2 "grip" the same as the "special edition/team" tire that the pro teams were using?

Note Cipo's handlebar between the spokes of the other bike's rear wheel. No getting out of that one.
