Voted to have him back.
How strange: initially I thought he was a ******bag, but as time went on, I really started to admire him. And now, there's very few BF patrons that I respect as much as I do dutret.
The guy is pure class-act.

I'm not sure we can petition our MP's to make a law that reinstates dutret, but yeah... I miss him a lot. I don't even get why he quit posting after that argument... argument seemed to be what he came here for in the first place.

extra bitter
There are lots of grumpy curmudgeons all over this board, but plenty of them are just opinionated blowhards with no better idea what's going on than anybody else. Dutret is at least a curmudgeon who really knows his *****. Maybe he's a little abrasive, but I think that's mostly b/c he just can't handle letting BS slide. You've got to admire that at least a little bit.

what would actually be awesome is less junk like this and more conversations about bicycles.
i mean seriously, if you miss him, send an email.
seriously, at least try to talk about bike stuff on bike forums...

I think he's spending his time getting a PhD or something. It probably takes a lot of energy to be a Dutret.

so dutret knows some stuff about bikes
how does that warrant berating people and turning thread after thread into nitpicking petty arguments
