Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

But have you mastered the "rear dismount"? I understand it looks mighty impressive on film.

Okay, let's discuss skid technique (in the dark).

Sure, you have to keep your junk on the stem. But then what? Maybe the "road" just isn't slippery enough?

doesn't have to be slippery. yeah you'll prevent unnecessary wear when it's slick, but when it's dry it can be just as much fun.

you gotta feel for the blowout, last thing you wanna do is pull over and fix a flat so be prepared for the dismount when it starts to get smoky.

without some grease or lube the components wear way too quick, before you know it it is cracking and pitted

I can't do the "trackstand" but I'm damn good at "barspins." Just make sure there is a small one up front.

Doggy style is the jam.

Unless a real dog is involved. Then it's a disturbing mental picture that I will need professional therapy to get out of my head.
