Official Group Buy Survey Poll (Please Read First)

This year, I suggest we follow the success of the road forum and SSFG forum's previous group buys, and consolidate all of our needs into one thread to find out what we want, and who wants it.

This will make it easier to know which bike distributers to contact and best negotiate a deal that would be ideally a win-win for everyone.

The poll will range from high-end titanium framesets to custom jerseys. Just click on the thing you would commit to placing a deposit in, and we will go from there.

Anything that you think needs to be changes or updated, contact me and one of our awesome moderators should be able to edit the poll.

The poll will be open "indefinitely" in theory, but of course once the deposits are taken and orders are closed then the thread will be locked.

I chose carbon wheels (hed/areospoke?), but i'd also put money down on a highend aluminum frame.

You already have ten choices, and that appears to be the limit.

Remember that you can pick more than one thing, as long as you can afford it.

I voted Carbon or high end steel, but my first choice would be a nice Ti track frame. I have never rode Ti and would love to try it. All of this goes out the window if the geometry screws the tall guy like most of the higher end aluminum track frames do. I am 6'6" and a 58cm top tube is not an "XL" frame.

That's why were conducting a survey.

If enough people want a particular item, then we can narrow it down to the distributers/manufaturers willing to participate.

If you're looking for some thing extra special or boutique, then group buy is not for you.

The purpose is to place bulk orders though direct distribution and eliminate the overhead cost.

The difference goes in our pockets, we get more bike stuff, company gets more inventory gone, forum gets more traffic.

Win-win all 'round.

It's the warranty thing again as well, blickblocks. The last thing we want is rumours about those "cheap-ass beer can BFSS&FG frames that dent when you look at them".

Lose-lose all around. Hard to resell to (not that I'm advocating resell...I actually hope you guys ride your bikes--at the 'drome even).

I went with entry steel because although I'd love $1200 high-end frame, $150 is about all I can do

I'd prefer high-ish end steel or ti but I'll wait to vote until I'm not broke because I can't afford **** right now.

*edit*
I would also be down with a visitordesign jersey. That would be sweet.

I like the idea somebody posted about a semi complete track bike. Just frameset wheels and drivetrain since that would be a better value than just a frameset but you wouldnt be stuck with saddle bars etc that you wouldnt use.

i think we should do a messenger bag group buy, and the bag would be in a bike forums exclusive colorway.
