Can I count this as vintage ??
This was a total impulse buy.
I have always wondered what the hullaballoo is about folding bikes.....
I couldn't resist this all-original 1974 Bianchi Nealeco single speed folding bike when I saw it. The fact that it has the orig Itallian bell and license was a "deal-sealer" I have not cleaned it yet
I'm guessing that the only reason these were ever made was for people who live in shoebox apartments, but if I'm mistaken or if you know a bit about the history of folding bikes, please let me know as I'm curious.
I couldn't resist an immediate fledgling run but the front (original) tube was flat. So I popped off one of the Burley trailer wheels, which is what you see on it now. I'll have the orig wheel back on tomorrow.
They definately are different to ride. It may take some getting used to for me. So far, I love the bell and the smoothness of the (Campy or Ofmega??) hubs. The bike litterally coasts forever.
For your pleasure or disgust:

Yes .. that's way more vintage than some junk I've seen that's considered vintage. If it's rideable and cost less than 100, it's a good deal,if it costs more and you use it alot OK too. Folders are a blast.Take it with you when you visit boring inlaws or relatives. They beat bike racks and you can keep it secured.

Your Bianchi is a good looking Folder! You did well!
Folders are lots of fun, and isn't that what bikes are supposed to be about! I have a Raleigh Twenty, I love it! It was in pretty good shape so I cleaned it up, tuned it up, I put a Brooks B-62 on it, Comp Pool tires, a bike computer, and yes a bell! I kept fiddling with the seat and HB adjustments and it is as comfy as any of my upright bikes (for serious rides I take my RANS Stratus)! Plus, its way too cute at least that is what my wife says.
I have too many bikes but if I found another folder that suited me I would buy another! Ride it and be prepared to enjoy the questions and comments!

Yes, I like it alot! That color is nice and it's in great shape. Folders are great for car travel if you don't have a full size with SS couplers. Not sure about that seat for any serious riding though.
Guess you won't be needing that Ross Diamond Express in the background, you can send it to me!

Thanks alot you guys, I'm not sure about the saddle either, but it is original so I'll give it a try and may have to upgrade soon.
Re: the Ross, sorry, but it's kind of special to me. Here's why:

Yep, I agree! The name on the bike doesn't mean much if it doesn't put a smile on your face
