To deepen the mystery of the Titans

For those of you ( like me) who bought a Titan frame a couple of years ago you may remember the time we had trying to figure out who built them.

One of the clues that got tossed out was the badge on many of them saying "Varnished by Dossena Carlo".

I remember speculation around D'Accordi's and Casati's among others.

For any of you still riding your Titans, I present further fodder for the mystery.

Where's ollo ollo?

Does the 'varnished' mean 'painted'? It seems an odd way of putting it. But I like the graphics on the bike (which I assume is yours?).

It is mine ( he says proudly) , recently acquired but already proving as nice or better a ride than any I have.

Varnished = Painted , right enough.

The C & V folks have been acquiring some beautifully painted bikes as of late.

We need to get ollo ollo over here, he's the Titan bike go-to-guy .

I also bought a couple of Titan frames in July 2005! I have not assembled them into bikes yet but hope to do so this spring/summer. It's been a while since I've snooped around on this forum and enjoy getting educated. FYI the decal that says "Varnished by Dossena Carlo" should say "Painted by Carlo Dossena". When you translate the Italian "vernice" into English, the literal translation is to "varnish". In actual fact, "vernice" is "paint". It just one of those things where one needs to know both languages to pick up on these things. Also, many Italians typically write their name, or introduce themselves to others "backwards" to the English way of doing this...that is to say, first name last, last name first. Hopefully this clears up the inaccuracy. Cheers to all...Fabio
