Somebody took good care of this, Thank you!

I'd like to express my gratitude to those rare good eggs who go above and beyond the call to recycle old bikes back into the community...

This bike absolutely, positively has good karma!!

I had been searching for a great "Towing bike" candidate for the Burly trailer I just built for these 2 goofballs: https://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l4...2/kevin004.jpg

Went to the thrift store and found this beauty of a ROSS, "Made in Allentown, PA".

I knew I had stumbled upon the right fit as soon as I looked in the saddle bag.
Along with the tire pressure guage, patch kit- from Germany nonetheless!, 2 spare tubes and "Bicycle Club of America Membership Card" was a note that said: "Please leave this stuff in here with the bike. The next person may need it someday.."

I may never know who you are but I'd like to say thanks!

Check out these crazy blue components you guys. And dig the great handlebars!

(Lately, I have a new respect for Ross bikes anyways.... )

That looks really nice, very similar to my lugged steel Panasonic "tow truck". Does it have a tubing decal? That fork looks weird...

Those components are rad, by the way

That's a wonderful story.

And I said: awwwwww, those two are darling! Naturally, I was quite drawn to the one wearing the polka dot bandana...I wonder why ?

Sweet! An Allentown Ross MTB.

I can't see the top tube. What model is it?

Here's my off-shore '93 Mt. McKinley.

Braingel,
the only decal on the entire frame is "Bicycle Dealers Association of America"

I hear what you're saying... I think that these forks were pretty common on the "1st generation" of MTB's

However, how could I argue with blue, oval cutout high flange MTB hubs

Thanks.

That fork makes riding a BMW seem harsh tho', must find a replacement.

Love those MAFAC's!

"A f'd up road bike bmx hybrid, like the estranged second cousin noone wants to think about anymore"

That's the first thing my girlfriend said upon seeing this bike. I agree, but in a positive fashion.

One of these was on craigslist a few days ago. Wish I would have gone and looked at it now. Nice!

It looks very close to the Mt. St. Helens in the '84 catalog, but your blue BMX style stem would suggest an older version as the '84 has a chrome bull moose/nose stem/bar combo. Here's the specs on the rest of the '84...

Color: Argenta
Frame Mens: 21, 23", Ladies 19" 1020 steel
Rims: Ukai Blue Alloy
Tires: 26x2.215" GW
Brakes: Blue Alloy Side Pull
Deraileurs: 10 speed w/thumb shifters
Crankset: SR Custom Blue Alloy 36x48T
Stem/Handlebar: Bull Nose CRO-MO
Hubs: SR Blue Alloy
Also included: Cushion grips, Alloy pedals

PS You ought to post some photos to this thread too...

Here's another Ross Diamond Cruiser thats more of a cruiser setup than mtb. Same funky but cool anodized components except DiaCompe long reaching side pull calipers instead of canti's. Picked it up on CL in Jan. for $10.

I've never had a chili 'dog from Yocco's, but suddenly I want one.

I was near Allentown a few years back visiting Dorney Park, and never even HEARD of Yocco's.

I have tried Tony Packo's in Toledo, though...

That's cuz we don't tell 'visitors' about it. It's for the local only.

They're featured at the end of this video: https://youtube.com/watch?v=S-efJEmqEOE
