The Peugeot "Tube Special" Carbolite 103 Thread.

Why, because I'm stuck in the house with a terrible head cold, when I'd rather be somewhere out in the countryside riding my Peugeot. So here am am, with a couple old Peugeot catalogs and some spare time, and my scanner.

The P6, bottom of the line in '83 and '84 Shared it's internally brazed frame with a few other models in the line.
'83 has the pink background, '84 the white.

And now we jump to the PH10s, which gained Alloy bars and Simplex derailleurs. Still had the stem mounted shifters. Still internally brazed.

C46/M46, the 24" tired roadies. Peugeot 103 Cabolite tubing, fully lugged!

Steel bars, Rigina steel wheels, Huret Derailleurs.

In 1984, they were no longer listed as 103 tubing, being L1011 steel instead

All listed as Carbolite103, Internally brazed.

Aaron,

Thanks for those scans. Could you put up a psvn from the same era?

Aaron, I assume you're aware of the following site:

https://home.wanadoo.nl/peugeotshow/

It's in Dutch, but you can pick up most of the essentials from paying attention to recognizable brand names and a few English words that have sneaked into bicycle lexicon.

The problem with the Dutch site is that American export Peugeots were often equipped differently than their European counterparts.

Thanks for the information on 1980s Peugeots, which are generally outside of my personal experience base, which has grown out of owning a 1970 UO-8, a circa 1974 UO-8, and a 1980 PKN-10 and working at a Peugeot/Nishiki dealership in Santa Monica CA from 1972 to 1974.

I bet that if you were to offer these to Mark Bulgier (www (dot) bulgier (dot) net), that he'd be willing to add these to his catalog scans.

Yup, I know about the Dutch site, neat, but like John said, The U.S. Market machines are differen't animals. On top of that, most of the other online resources focus on the higher end models, my interest is in the commonplace Peugeots. Lacking webpage software at the moment, I just tossed some stuff in this thread. I'll find some free webspace later on.

RK1963, I diddn't scan that one, but I'll look into it tonight and post it for you.

1970s catalogs

I have the ~1970, ~1972 and 1974 Peugeot catalogs posted on https://www.retropeugeot.com/. I would gladly post other catalogs if available to me, and can use all the help I can get for this endeavor. Thanks.

1974 Owner's Manual

Also, if you are interested I recently purchased a 1974 Peugoet owner's manual (generic for all models) on EBay for a couple of dollars, and will be posting that soon on https://www.retropeugeot.com/.

Aaron,

Thanks so much for your generosity and, obviously, you are a man of your word. (I had these catalogs back in the early 80s. I knew I should have held on to them.) Very nice.
