Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

De Rosa Neo Primato (WARNING: lots of hi-res pic)

After seeing these images from this post https://www.bikeforums.net/road-cycling/131142-modern-classic-my-new-de-rosa-warning-large-pics.html

I fall in love with my De Rosa all over again. Here's mine:

2004 De Rosa Neo Primato lugged steel frame, carbon fork
Chris King headset
2006 Campy Record group
2005 Campy Eurus wheel
Cinelli RAM bar and seatpost
Fizik Arione saddle
Keo carbon pedal
Tufo CS33 Special tubular clincher

me and my team mate, who also has a Neo Primato, but with different setup

Amazing.

Eh, you've seen one bike, you've seen them all.

j/k

Nice ride. How do you like the Arione Saddle? I have one, and it seemed pretty comfy, but I also got a saddle sore from it so haven't tried it a second time. Middle seems too high or something.

I'll bet that baby rides smooth as silk.

I absolutelty love how you went with the brown sidewalled Tufos to give it that retro look, even though it's a modern tire.

BRAVO!!!!!

Yeah, the aesthetic is a dynamic hybridization of old and new school cyclophilia as flawlessly executed in materials, colors, line and place of manufacture.

It screams, "You toucha my bike, annI breaka your face."

Nice bike!.. love the burnt orange and World Champs colors...reminds me of an Eddy Merckx paint job.

+1,000 OCP points for matching kits.

BTW, How do you like your Las helmet? Does the air scoop really work in keeping you cool?

Just a personal opinion, but I don't hink the aero seat post, and the one piece carbon bars match well aesthetically with the lugged steel frame. My taste would run to the first bike.

I was going to make this observation as well but I don't think the seat is too forward it's just that you have a set back seat post when it's probably not needed.

Ok aside from that I love it! I was real close to getting a Neo Primato till I just settled on something else. That is a beautiful machine and I am sure she rides like a dream.

Great looking bike. Your friend needs to lose the blue bartape, doesn't match his bike.

I agree, the cinelli ram bar and post don't match well with lugged steel, but I just love the RAM bar so much, it's so comfortable. Just use the RAM post to match with the bar.

I enjoy riding this steel bike alot, enjoy it so much that sometimes I race and do century on it.

+1. A steel bike says retro but carbon doesn't. Nice jerseys though.

(that chick in the SUV was checking you out. LOL)

I'm sure it doesn't matter as long as the saddle position fits.
