Ksyrium hub change
It is possible to change out the free hub in a Ksyrium ES wheel from a Shimano to Campy setup? If so what is involved and what is an approx. cost? Are there any disadvantages?
Thanks,
George

You should be able to find the freehub body online or at a Mavic dealer for around 60-70$. You may have to special order it at a retail store for this is a rare thing to stock... but they should be available.

If I recall correctly: removing the cassette body took two allen keys to loosen, care not to loose the springy pawls inside, sliding old one off then new one on. 10 minutes. I bought the Mavic cassette body FTSL from excelsports.com $49.95.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Thank yo for that link and password. I found rim specs there that I have never been able to get from the regular web pages. I can't figure out why Mavic won't make them available on their regular pages.

I was recently told that the freehub on the ES wheels are not the same as those on the rest of the Ksyrium line, and that they are not interchangable.
It sounds strange to me but it was from someone who seemed to know his stuff so it's worth checking into before buying a potentially useless part.
Remember; they are French!
Cheers!

Thank you
You have no idea how thankful I am for that username and password, without you I would have been looking forever. You have done what no one else has done. Thank you.
