Clyde-friendly winter riding pants
It's getting cold here and I need to keep riding to fend off the winter fat.
Please share your experiences with clyde-worthy winter bottoms/pants.
I am 6' and 270 lbs. Because of my work situation and how I want to use my bikes during the winter, I am particularly interested in alternatives to tights, but want to hear what everyone uses. I am shopping for clothes that I will, by necessity, be wearing all day, not just commuting and changing into work clothes. I do carry an extra shirt or two, this takes care of the majority of my sweat and stink.
I also find that I am more interested in good moisture management than padding. Maybe I am using the wrong brands, but all of the shorts with chamis/padding seem to hold moisture and be uncomfortable when worn all day.
So, what's everybody wear in the cold.

REI Mistral. I wore one pair--every day--last winter for commuting.
I'm buying another pair this week. For the money, I haven't found a better pant for 90% of the stuff I ride through. Layer underneath for cooler temps. Rain pants for when you're in for a soaking.

FoxWear will make you a tough set of pants thats water/wind proof/breathable and comfortable. Lou works one on one and can make something in any size you need. I'm a big guy too and he stitched me up a complete set-rain pants, tights, shirt, hat and jacket for less than 280 bucks. Im very pleased that I can bike in nearly any weather now.

REI Elements pants with Sport Hill tights underneath. It was 25F this morning, and 28F yesterday... I was comfy and warm on my way in.
I'm 6'6", 260 pounds, with a 36" inseam and 40" waist. Finding clothes isn't exactly easy, but REI makes stuff that fits pretty well. The pants could be another inch longer, but the tights and booties cover up any exposed ankle.
