Internet Group Ride
I completely 100% got this idea from mtbr. I'm not sure whose idea it first was, but props to frozen spokes.
https://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=235273
So you can see how they are doing it.
Basically what it is is, since we all live across the country. We obviously can't ride together. So, basically one day every month, a saturday, we all ride in our various parts of the country and try to get at least 1 sweet shot to share with everyone. I'll remake another thread where everyone posts their pics. I think it'd be cool, to see one shot from everyone on the same day.
So-
-Post here if you want in on this.
-The picture must be from the ride on that day.
-Only post one picture, the best you took.
-Saturday, november 18th is the ride date for november.
According to khuons suggestion, we can set a date every month. November 18th being the november date.
Can a mod sticky this?

I don't have any studded tires. Nov we usually have ice and I can't risk hitting my shoulder.

I think this is a great idea. I've also made it a sticky. November 18th. might be tricky for me depending on the weather. It usually gets pretty rainy around here by that time and so the good trails get closed down to prevent erosion. But I can usually find some tamer more groomed trails.
So I'd like to make a counter-proposal in exchange for stickying this thread: let's make this a regular "date". We pick a saturday every month and collect ride reports and pictures for that day.

# Brief descriptions of some of the singletracks found in Skeggs: Resolution - start at the Fir Trail to ride perhaps the best downhill in the park
# North Leaf - slabs a slope for most of the way
# Methuselah - meandering downhill curves through dense redwood groves bottoming out at a tortured stream crossing
# Giant Salamander - rolling singletrack with short steep stretches near the Timberview Trail
# Manzanita - great ride both ways with views of the ocean, quite rocky in sections (Manzanita from the Methuselah/Fir trail junction. Take a bit more care on this trail because it gets very technical and rocky in some parts)
# Crosscut - Short level trail that finishes off with a bang into the Gordon Mill Trail
# El Corte de Madera Creek - gentle singletrack through pristine stretches of forest that provides an easy way to climb out
# Steam Donkey - final section is a straight shot bomb down to the Spring Board Trail; just jump the board, it's easy
# Sierra Morena - a pretty non-descript side-slabbing trail providing a much better option than Skyline
# Blue Blossom Trail - be sure to run this from the Bear Gulch Road side down as some pitches are too steep to bike up
I seriously couldn't find a single picture of the good parts of the trails.
Here's some more skegg's pix

Still kicking.
I think I might have to break the rules and post video instead.

My ride (and pictures) ought to be interesting. We just got slammed (and are still in the middle of it) with one of the worst storms to have hit the Puget Sound region. There will likely be a lot of hike-a-bike sections. I anticipate a bunch of blowdown and washed out areas unless I stick to really groomed gravel trails.

I started a week early, Went to Long Island Green Belt Trail. Next week its the stillwell loop. I didnt get many pictures because we were traveling fast on the way out and it started to get dark quick on the way back. It was pitch black about 3 miles before we got back

We just got hit here with a really nasty storm (another one). I'm hoping the trails will be ridable on Saturday. There's a lot of blowdown everywhere. Roads near my house are closed either due to flooding or fallen trees combined with downed energised power lines. I lost power for 18 hours yesterday. And there's another system moving in on Sunday. Yum!
