Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Tried the camera timer but light was messed up

Heading back, another shot of Soldier Field and Monroe Harbor

Did I mention rush hour traffic. Not for me

A nice couple offered to take a pic of me. Lucky they did not run away with my camera

Final stretch by Ohio St beach before heading back up to health club.

Some day I will take pics of this same place in the dead of winter when it is 10 below and there is ice everywhere. You will not think it is the same place.
All you Northshore Century riders- weather should be similiar. Rain will not happen until early Sun evening. We should have a great ride.

Should....should be similar....I'll wear my RAIN jersey to freighten the drops away.

Great shots! Makes me wish I wasn't buried in suburbia fighting with strangers 2 hours each day during my commute.....

I miss living downtown in the summertime! The bike path is wonderful on a weekday morning when the usual biking/walking/blading/etc. crazies are not out there.

It has been pretty calm the last 3 weeks but in mid summer 90 degree July, even these morning rides are a little crazy. Too many people that just do not use their head. I guess you could look at it as a good time to work on your bike handling skills

I clicked on the Report this post to a moderator button in your first post. You probably see the "edit" button there. No action needed by you, hopefully.

Gosh I love this city! Haven't ridden on the lake front in years, and it does get crazy and crowded as the day goes by. Thanks for sharing.
