I can't help myself. A good read is usualy better than a good movie. I can't wait to see some of the movies listed in the other post but in the mean time lets list some good books.

"Le Tour" by Geoffrey Wheatcroft
Aside from the class-isms, and the anti-Catholicisms, a great book, scholarly, without being inaccessible; some lovely touches, including little write-ups on the various regions of France.
Invaluable read.

"A Significant Other" by Matt Rendell.
Excellent book about racing from the perspective of the domestique...in particular, Victor Hugo Pena, who happened to get into the yellow jersey during the book's writing.

Best sports book I've ever read. Period. And not that flattering towards Lance either. Very real. Very eye opening about Euro bike racing.

The Team Lada 'Day at the Fair' story is without doubt the best cycling story you will ever read. This book is utterly priceless.

A great story from a chicago bike messenger.
Also, I agree with "Heft on Wheels".
Best training book is yet to be produced. They are all pretty average and I've read every one published in the last 25 years. Maybe Coach Carl's E-book, just for the pure enormity of it, plus I like his attitude.

Before I officially f***ed up my hamstring, this was a great inspiration for me to get out the door to track practice every day and get my @ss kicked by sub-1:50 800m guys.

Running With The Buffalos- Clearly not a biking book, but a really good read if you can understand running times. If you can't, you won't be able to fully grasp how hard these guys trained at high elevation. The story is great.

He seemed to care less about winning then how he ran. To him it was an art form, an expression.
