I was poking around the internets this morning and came across this photo: https://flickr.com/photos/freebeets/10656023/

It's a Pista in Japan. In Celeste.

I did some digging around and found Bianchi's Japanese site. And there they are, Pistas in Celeste and the Pista Concept in a different two tone colour as well:

https://www.cycleurope.co.jp/2005/pistaT.htm

https://www.cycleurope.co.jp/2005/d2p.htm

Notice that the Pista in Japan has a very nice fork compared to the "bow-legged" fork they have here. AND it comes stock with a Fizik Arione saddle. It also has a seat collar it looks like so it's not integrated.

That Pista Concept is decked out in Campy and Deda parts!

Again, the Japanese are rocking the cooler colours and bikes.

And a rear brake hole? Is it me or does the geometry look more slack than the US pista? Could this one be for road training?

I just noticed it too - that geometry is much more slack and road-like. It could actually be really comfortable though.

It's very slack, and it only comes in two sizes, 50 and 54.
Code:
Frame size mm 500 540
Top tube length (horizontality) mm 550 565
Top tube length (survey) mm 541.5 556.7
Chain stay length mm 356 356
Hanger going down mm 65 65
Fork offset mm 45 45
Seat tube angle 73.5° 73.5°
Head tube angle 71° 71°

woooooooord! i would totally get a bianchi pista if i could get it in celeste. maybe i'm a snob, but when i see a Bianchi that's not celeste, i get bummed. my ladyfriend has an 80s bianchi that's the older celeste, a bit more white to the paint it seems (like the seat and tape in the pic above as opposed to the frame), and it's grip tape, cable housings, and seat are all celeste... maybe a bit of overkill, but it's gorgeous

when I get my pantiani replica bianchi with
full campy the celeste stays on. then i'll
shave my head & wear an earing too
and do coke.

I do love that colour, though I call it aqua-marine. I did our bathroom over with that as the theme. Counters, cabinet doors, flowers in the tiles, bathmat etc.

That fork appears to be lugged as well(why on earth would Bianchi not distribute that here?). Very nice indeed.

The front end geomety does look super slack in that picture. Not like that bothers me since I am a sacriligious b@stard and put a road fork on my track bike. While this may seem silly to many I love the way it rides so I just don't care.

Assuming it is 87,1500 Yen(I can really read the page but I think that is what is says) the price would be:

87,150.00 JPY Japan Yen = 811.679 USD United States Dollars

how possible/practical/expensive do you think it would be to purchase one of these and have it shipped over?

I will offer my layman's opinion and say it is probably not feasible due to tariffs and other such shipping/importing taxes.

still retains low-set components like wheel/hub/crank/brakes...and what's up with the "hi-ten[sile]" fork?

aesthetically its much better than the us pista, though

Yep, those Reparto Corse/SL's were nice. It's a shame they don't make them anymore.

However, it's truly stunning to know that the Japanese are doing them in Celeste - I seriously wonder if the 06's will be celeste.
