Here's my recent-ish build. It's an early 60s (?) Repco. Most likely built by Robert Bates. Anyway, the frame (plus a few bits) cost me 99c on eBay a year ago and I finally got around to throwing some parts on it. It's really nice to ride!! Still looking for a few things.......

10 image limit, is it? Okay ...
Photos are from here: https://www.ridemonkey.com/forums/sho...=187985&page=6. The guy built the frame, fork, axle, seatpost clamp, etc. Just about everything on the bike is custom, right down to the saddle.

I was dumbfounded ... the fork, the stem, the seatpost clamp ... the frigging homemade thru axle design. It's just nuts. And he actually rides it! It's not just some stupid show piece! WOO!

... bushings instead of bearings ... or ****, I don't have a clue. When you're building the frame/fork yourself and have that level of mechanical skill I suppose you could just whip up your own integrated headset spec while you're at it and toss that on the bike.

The parts that remain from the 99c bike are the frame, forks, bottom bracket, headset and fenders. But still, one of the best bargains I've ever gotten. The eBay description and photo were horrible.

I just finished up my second fixed gear conversion. Spent a total of a hundred fifty dollars. Seat and wheels have been swapped. MKS GR-9 pedals, MKS Steel toe clips, and MKS synthetic leather straps will be ordered on Saturday. Enjoy!

It has a top-cap to tighten the headset. I have had a DH stem like that that doesn't really tighten to the steerer tube... it's just a really freaking tight fit. Getting it on and off is a PITA.
Any way you slice it, that thing is the hottest bike. The only thing I would change is putting in a CK steelset instead of the integrated one he has.
Edit - Went to the ridemonkey thread:

I counterbored the top and made a flush fit cap that is threaded underneath to accept a long (aluminum) shaft that is tightened from below the fork.
Similar in function to a Head lock only without the visible fastener.
I'm all about clean lines. I also removed the Profile script on the front cap.
