My memories of Sheldon have been expressed in C&V. And now here, I guess.

I've learned so much from Sheldon's site over the years. In fact, I was on his site on February 3, trying to figure out a braking question for my Gitane. I'll never forget the time I posted something on C&V about steel, and Sheldon corrected me-- it was such a thrill to have Sheldon Brown setting me straight! Sheldon was truly one of a kind, and will be sorely missed.

I'm posting here now to let people know that a memorial ride is being planned in Portland for April 1st, in remembrance of Sheldon's annual April 1st messages. Hopefully, an April 1st ride will be held wherever Sheldon had fans, and hopefully, a Sheldon Brown memorial ride will become an annual event.

If you appreciated Sheldon's advice, humor, and generosity with both over the years, and a ride isn't being planned in your town, please consider helping to organize one.
