My abilities have improved since I bought the 7500fx in 2003, but my extra cash has not. I wanted a road bike, but at 52 prefer a more upright style, like the Pilot or Synapse but the outlay was not in my budget.

Furthermore, with all the hills in Middle Tennessee, that granny gear on the fx comes in handy at the end of a long ride.

Solution, add a new stem, drop bars, and new shifters to the hill climbing gears on the hybrid.
