that will definitely a great bike for him to grow into. consider a low profile saddle if he has trouble reaching the pedals. but, maybe you already thought of that ;)

those wheels look right sharp! not too garish at all. imo, what makes it all work is the vintage wheelset. no standout modern graphics or rim profile. tasteful, modest embellishment!...

well, those are nice brakes. did some reading reviews on them haven't heard a bad word. they're pretty pricey, but maybe a deal like yours will pop up somewhere. otoh, they can only clear a 28mm max....
